ABOUT ME
Hi, I’m Hannah!
I was born and raised in Central Iowa. Raised in the city for most of my childhood. I was a country girl from the start though, I got my first pair of cowgirl boots when I was four years old and started dreaming of having my own farm one day. I was raised in a military family, with two loving, godly parents, and with five brothers and three sisters.
Mine and Aaron’s story started back in October 2012, when a 17 year old Midwest girl met a 19 year old Southern boy. We started talking, and shortly fell in love. We dated for a year, got in engaged, and were married in March of 2014.
Back when we were dating, we were saving up money for our wedding. I was working as a stable hand and wrangler at an equestrian center. I was outside in the elements 5 days a week, rain, or shine, snow and more snow. I came down with sinus infections quite often through the winter months. I wasn’t one that liked going to the doctor. I began researching what I could do at home for my sinus infection. I started taking a 8oz glass of water with 1 TBSP of apple cider vinegar, twice a day. With in several days my infection cleared up. No more antibiotics, something so simple as a pantry staple cured my illness. That sparked my interest for natural wellness.
My husband and I had planned even before we were married that I would quite my jobs, and be a keeper of the home. We wanted a simple life, a old fashioned home, made from scratch. I soon started learning how to ferment cucumbers, make homemade bread, butter, and granola.
In January of 2015, our first baby was born, who developed colic a few weeks after birth. I was determined to treat this naturally. We found out about essential oils and the benefits of chiropractic care, and were blown away with how effective they were in treating our sons colic.
With hours of reading and research, I have gained so much knowledge, which has helped me to treat a number of ailments for my family.
A couple years after getting married, we purchased our first homestead. Since then we have raised; countless number of hens and meat chickens, pigs, and goats. We strive to live a frugal lifestyle and are working to get out of debt. God has been so good to our family and has blessed us beyond measure.
Come along with us, as I show you that a simple, natural, old fashioned lifestyle, can be not only affordable but also a fulfilling, meaningful life.
